OUR FOUNDER
Founder, President, and Executive Director, De’Kaleigha “Day-Day” Wells, was born and raised in Readyville, Tennessee on her family’s farm which sits on 100+ acres of land. Her mother is a travel agent, subsequently she has been traveling since before she could walk. Life took a turn when De’Kaleigha’s Father passed away while she was only 12 years of age leaving her Mom and 9-year-old sister to carry on in life without him, yet cherish his memories. Her Father was a few months shy of completing his PhD when he passed, so De’Kaleigha made a vow to receive the torch and complete her PhD one day for him since life failed him before he could do so. She went on to finish High School with Honors where she was also a Big Sister in the Big Brother Big Sister organization. She then received her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Concrete Industry Management with a minor in Business Administration with Cum Laude Honors from Middle Tennessee State University in May 2015 where she also became and still remains an active and financial graduate member of the Illustrious Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated through the Exquisite Eta Psi Chapter in Fall 2013. Community Service has been her foundation the majority of her adolescent and adult life. Immediately after college graduation, De’Kaleigha became 1 of 88 people from all over the globe to receive the prestigious invitation to live, work, and study her MBA at St. Mary’s University in London, England through the Mountbatten Institute Program. Upon completion of all classwork in London, she then moved to Bangkok, Thailand to research and complete her full dissertation at Phayao University as required. De’Kaleigha received her Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in International Business with Merit Honors in May 2017. De’Kaleigha shall be on path to complete her PhD in honor of her Father in the very near future.
Day-Day always dreamed of traveling the world to see what life was like in other places and experience the places she had only been able to see in the history books at school throughout her adolescent years. Well she did not realize how soon her dreams would come true. She has currently been to 43 countries, 5 continents, and countless cities. She was raised in Tennessee, but had the privilege to live in New York City, London, Bangkok, Los Angeles, and Washington D.C. De'Kaleigha has always encompassed a huge heart for children and a deep passion for travel, as a result she found it fulfilling to create her non-profit organization dedicated to creating authentic lessons for adolescents to experience life outside of their comfort zone and local knowledge that is not taught in the classroom. Every child accepted into the program is a G.L.O.B.A.L. (Growing Learning Outreaching Beyond Adjacent Lands), and he/she is granted the opportunity to travel the globe and participate in community service worldwide at no cost to him/her. Children are our future and she believes every human being should be able to at least leave their country one time in their lifetime regardless of their income. "When God Says Go" and "Just go or you will never know!" were Day-Day's mottos after she left everything she knew and loved to study on another continent because her life completely changed and has not been the same.
De’Kaleigha’s hobbies not only include traveling and modeling, but also singing, horseback riding, bowling, swimming, culinary, photography, and spoken words. Day-Day has also been in the entertainment industry for several years. She has competed in pageants all over the world including London and the Dominican Republic. Some of her titles include Miss Black California 2020, Miss Los Angeles All-American 2018, Miss PowerWoman California 2017, and Miss Highbury London 2017. She has appeared in several episodes of ABC’s “Nashville” as an extra, on stage in multiple plays and musicals throughout high school and college, and several other printed and televised modeling advertisements. She is also CPR/ First Aid Certified for Infants, Children, and Adults. She is very humble, talented, and gifted in several aspects; however, she has a deep passion for exploring and loves being an inspiration all over the world showing people that literally anything is possible, life is not the same everywhere, and no one should ever be afraid to take a chance because if you just "Believe"... then you can literally do anything!
As a result, Day-Day loves people and strives to impact people from all walks of life all over the world no matter their race or skin color. She is known for sprinkling a little "De'Kaleigha" on people everywhere she goes due to her extremely high energy, love, and compassion. She is an amazing event and tour planner as well as public speaker. De'Kaleigha truly lives by: "Just GO or you will never know!"
Why She Travels
De’Kaleigha has a passion for learning new cultures and languages! She has lived on 3 different continents in 6 different cities, and knows for a fact had she not went…she would have never known. Traveling humbles, educates, and enlightens her, but most importantly it broadens her perspective on life. Travel and Tourism will forever be a major part of De’Kaleigha’s life. She desires to show as many children, her family, and other people all over the world as she feasibly can. Life is all about experiences and not the breaths we take but the moments that take our breath away!
